Audit fire safety

What is it
A fire safety audit is an independent mock-check of the condition of the facility according to a checklist from a SSES inspector: documents, evacuation plans, fire extinguishers, alarm and fire extinguishing systems, insulation resistance measurement, and personnel readiness. Simply put, we show your business through the eyes of the SSES — so that you are the first to learn about violations and correct them before the inspection, not after the fine.
When ordering
Most often, a fire safety audit is ordered in several situations: a warning about a scheduled inspection by the SSES has arrived; a fire has occurred and the reasons need to be understood; a purchase or sale of a business is planned and due diligence of the facility is required; or it is an annual internal control for a chain or shopping mall. The service is suitable for stores, warehouses, production facilities and HoReCa. For HR, this is an objective report without the need to understand the regulations themselves; for the manager, it is protection against fines and the risk of stopping operations.
How we work
The audit is conducted by a practicing engineer who has personally accompanied hundreds of SSES inspections, — using a checklist with 100+ items and a mandatory visit to the facility. Using our own Racio Safety Standard methodology, we check what really poses a risk of a fine: the state of the systems, documents according to the current version of the National SSES, measurement of insulation resistance, personnel reaction — nothing superfluous, only what is necessary. The output is a report with violations at three levels of criticality, photo-recording and an action plan with priorities and budget. Confidentiality is stipulated in the contract (NDA).

What to do about it: the audit sees these 8 points before the SSES inspector sees them, so you have time to correct critical violations. For violating fire and technogenic safety requirements, officials and individual entrepreneurs face an administrative fine of 3,400–5,100 UAH. If the violations pose a threat to people's lives or health, the SSES may go to court to completely or partially stop the facility's operation.

Blocked or closed fire exits
Boxes, shelves, furniture, winter clothing, bicycles - in front of the emergency exit. Critical violation: fine + real risk of victims in case of fire.
Outdated or faulty fire extinguishers
Expired recharge date, discharged pressure gauge, damaged seal. Check visually and according to the log.
Evacuation plans do not match the planning
After the redevelopment, the old plan remains on the wall. The inspector compares it with the room sample and catches any discrepancies.
The APS is not working or is not serviced.
Automatic fire alarm systems — without regular maintenance reports, without a logbook, with “burnt out” sensors. In stores and offices, this is often the gap.
There is no evacuation drill protocol.
It should be held once a year. SMB usually skips it. The inspector asks for specific participants, dates, scenarios — without this, the training “did not happen.”
Outdated safety instructions
Most templates from the Internet are written according to outdated editions of the rules. In our document packages everything is according to the current edition.
The person responsible for safety does not have a certificate
Appointed by order, but without official training and certification - invalid appointment. Fine to the director personally + instruction. We organize training of the responsible person within the framework of declaration or outsourcing of PB.
Electrical safety - overdue insulation resistance measurement
Measurement of insulation resistance and verification of protection operation are carried out once every 2 years, unless other terms are established by the rules of technical operation. For production and warehouses with powerful electrical equipment - a mandatory appendix to the declaration.
